FAQs

Find answers to frequently asked questions about our electric vehicle conversion service.
Each vehicle conversion is different and several factors contribute to total conversion cost. Items such as battery pack size, motor(s) size and use, optional features, and warranty options all add to the total cost of the build. Aponi EV will not attempt to sell you more than you need, that’s why we offer a total fleet assessment to determine your needs, infrastructure (if needed), and operational vehicle range. Aponi offers the lowest conversion cost in the industry, with a complete conversion cost of less than half the purchase price of a new vehicle and about a 3rd the cost of a new EV.
At Aponi we completely remove your old gas drive system and all fluids and components related to it. We have road-tested every new replacement EV component used in our conversion process and have strict guidelines governing our monitoring systems, shut-off systems, and battery thermal management systems. Programming and safety level limits are tested before we ship your completed product to you. Electric motors and battery packs are water-tested to simulate all-weather driving conditions. You can have peace of mind knowing your new drive system will not only function as intended but will operate in a safe efficient manner and in compliance with all current D.O.T guidelines.
Your business survives on its fleet. We understand that vehicle downtime is lost revenue. Electric vehicles are changing the driving landscape, more and more cars, trucks, SUVs and vans are on the road now than ever before. The future looks to see an expansion of electric vehicles. Products and equipment are constantly being developed and continue to become even more cost-effective for the public in general. At Aponi we sift through the technology offered for electric drive systems and in some cases develop our own in-house components to ensure a product you can trust. Many of the major components in an EV have been in use for decades, especially the motor technology, however with advances in battery technology and other components hundreds, even thousands of hours of testing are needed to ensure no one is stranded on the side of the road. Aponi will offer no product that hasn’t been proven in a real-world environment.
Charging infrastructure is on the minds of anyone considering the change from gas to electric and at Aponi we understand that. We offer a level II charging system with all our basic conversions. We installed a Tesla-type J-1772 charging port and supplied a plug-in charger that can easily be used with a 240v NEMA-type outlet. Charging infrastructure can be as easy as a dryer outlet. Level II type charging works well for Aponi standard battery packs and in most cases depending on vehicle use, works to have your car, truck, van, and SUV charged overnight and ready to go the next day. Fast charging options (level III or IV) can be installed if vehicles require more frequent use and are offered as an upgrade for your conversion. Be aware that fast charging systems, level III or IV require the purchase of a separate charger not provided by Aponi EV.
How far do your fleet vehicles drive on a daily basis? The size of your vehicle’s battery pack determines how far you can go. At Aponi we offer battery pack sizes to suit whatever your range needs are. When it comes to range there are no limitations, however many factors affect the distance your new electric drive system can take you. We offer a fleet assessment to determine the optimal battery pack range for your vehicles. Operate local runs or onsite people and product transportation? We have a battery pack with a 70-mile range (the most cost-effective). Perform longer deliveries

throughout the day with perhaps more frequent stops and starts? We can install 300-mile range battery packs for your fleet vehicles. Range affects the price and at Aponi EV we understand fleet operators are interested in saving money. Our battery pack design is modular which means you can always start off with a more basic battery pack and upgrade with more range to suit the changing needs of your industry and keep you on the road and ahead of your competitors.
The electric vehicle business is a fast-growing and ever-changing industry. As most vehicle registrations are state-run and controlled, please check with your local DMV office to see if any special guidelines exist for registering your vehicle. In some cases nothing needs to be changed for registration, in other cases more information may need to be provided for registration, each state is different and changing constantly. If you are considering converting to electric please check with your state DMV office. At Aponi EV we are happy to assist by providing additional information if needed for use with your state's registration guidelines as it relates to our conversions of your fleet vehicles.
Aponi EV warrants its’ work and components only and for a period of 12 months. Motor and Battery packs come with manufacturers’ warranties of up to 5 years with 12-year operational lifespans.
